We’re excited to welcome Paul Johnson as a General Partner at Flex Capital. Paul will play a key role in pursuing our mission to empower the best founders to build generational companies.

At Flex, we believe the future belongs to founders who can scale rapidly. However, growing a business from the ground up is a complex challenge, one that requires experienced guidance. In Paul, we found someone uniquely equipped to help founders navigate this journey.

Paul founded and scaled Lemonaid Health, a first-of-its-kind telehealth platform that reshaped access to healthcare in the U.S. Lemonaid grew nationally here and then later launched and quickly became the largest online healthcare provider in the UK. Lemonaid was acquired by 23andMe for $400 million in 2021. Paul taught himself to code while at high school where he built his first business. More recently Paul has advised venture funds, CEOs and served on the boards of disruptive tech companies, helping their founders overcome growing pains and achieve sustainable growth.

We first met Paul when we invested in Lemonaid 8 years ago. We watched as he used technology to disrupt the healthcare system. We were deeply impressed by how he scaled, built the team and ultimately exited the business. His track record as both a founder and investor perfectly fits Flex’s unique approach, which puts Dual Threat CEOs - leaders who build and invest simultaneously - at the center of our strategy.

Beyond business, Paul embodies the values we champion at Flex: mentorship, perseverance, and continuous learning. Whether it's as a mentor or competing in professional-level pickleball tournaments, Paul is always pushing himself to improve and help others do the same.
