Growing up in Tehran, Hadi Partovi’s school didn’t offer computer science classes, so he taught himself to code at home on a Commodore 64. Today, the organization he founded, Code.org, is bringing coding education to over 80 million students.
Before founding Code.org, Hadi was a longtime Microsoft employee and built some of the earliest versions of Internet Explorer.
On this episode of World of DaaS, we explore the evolution of Microsoft and Hadi’s insights on its leaders Gates, Balmer, and Nadella. Hadi also shares the thought process that led him to make early investments in companies like Facebook and Uber, and how he thinks AI will change education.
